SmartStickies.ai

Local-first sticky notes with tasks, reminders, and tabbed workspaces—packaged for web and desktop, with mobile support configured.

Next.js · Electron · Capacitor · TypeScript

Problem

Notes and task lists are often trapped in a browser tab or a single-platform app. SmartStickies keeps quick capture, checklists, and reminders on the device you already use—without an account or a hosted backend.

What it does

A shared Next.js interface lets you create colored notes, attach tasks with priorities and due dates, snooze reminders, and organize work across tabbed workspaces. The same UI is packaged as an Electron desktop app and configured for Capacitor mobile builds.

One shared UI packaged for browser, desktop, and mobile, with local storage and reminders.

How it is built

  • Shared UI — notes, tasks, reminder dialogs, and a minimized-note tray
  • Browser — localStorage for offline use
  • Electron — desktop files, system tray, and native notifications
  • Capacitor — mobile preferences and local notifications are configured; the native iOS project is not shipped as a finished store app

The product is local-first. There is no cloud sync layer and no AI assistant in the current codebase.

Outcome

A lightweight workspace for capture and follow-up that stays private, works offline, and can be opened on the web at smartstickies.ai.
